About This Painting

This painting is a mixed media abstract painting on paper using acrylics, ink, and elements of collage with printed text and paper. With a dynamic and vibrant composition full of motion and energy, the many layers and textures add depth and complexity to the piece.

The colour palette consists of bold hues such as deep blues and dark greens. These contrast with warm yellows, fiery oranges, and bright swaths of white. The colors blend and interact with each other, forming an organic and harmonious composition that invites exploration and contemplation.

Bold brushstrokes reveal a sense of spontaneity and intuition. Swirling lines, drips, and gestural movements add to the painting’s sense of movement and energy.

This little painting is part of my Little Gems Series, which I use for testing new techniques and practicing old ones. While the original has been sold, prints in a variety of sizes and canvases are available through Saatchi Art online.

This is a post to celebrate the sale of my original artwork. I would like to extend a warm thank you to the Florida-based interior design firm, LC Designs, for purchasing my mixed media abstract painting Clearing Fear. I am very excited to see where this artwork is placed and I am truly grateful for your choosing my image for your interior design installation.

About This Painting

This painting is about “living above the line”. This is a lifestyle concept for well-being in which we choose mindful compassion and loving kindness in our behaviour and being. It rejects living “below the line”, which has us acting out of reaction, with hatred, jealousy, vengeance, or anger.

Living in this place of love requires conscious awareness. And I believe we must practice this elevated way of being, using all possible resources to remain there. This painting Clearing Fear is vibrationally imbued with the intention and sense of recognizing and accepting your fears, then releasing them to wash away.

This large-scale artwork measures 36” x 48” x 1.5”. The spiritually inspired painting is heavily textured and consists of the colours of white, gold, light blue, and eggshell.

Original Painting “Seraphina iii” Sold

About This Painting

This post is to announce the sale of my original painting Seraphina iii. Unfortunately, I don’t know who the collector who purchased it is, but I am thankful for and appreciative of their support. This abstract painting was the first of my paintings sold during the Gabriola Thanksgiving Studio Tour this past November.

Seraphina iii was inspired by a collaborative painting lesson with my friend Seraphina. She had visited my studio and I asked her to choose 2 colours. We then both played around with her 2 colour choices and created 3 paintings each. What’s particularly touching about these paintings is that Seraphina passed away in October of 2022, just before the studio tour, and this was the first painting that sold. I’m not sure whether the collector knew that I’d painted this series with Seraphina, so it’s particularly special to me.

This original mixed-media abstract painting has light turquoise with burnt umbers and burnt sienna, giving it an earthy, watery appearance. The flow of the painting, creating a sense of earth and sky, indicates that it’s inspired by an abstract landscape. The painting also has dried coffee grounds collaged into the piece for texture. We used several techniques in this painting, including etching, alcohol removal, and adding various layers of acrylics.

This painting is part of my Little Gems Series, a prolific series of small paintings that are created for fun, with joy, and for creative practice.

Original Abstract Painting Sold 'Emerald Lake'

A word of appreciation for the art collector

Thank you so much to Cardinal Coaching in Paris, France for their second original painting purchase, the one-of-a-kind original painting ‘Emerald Lake’. This unique mixed media, textured, and spiritually inspired abstract painting on canvas was created after spending the summer hiking and camping outdoors along the west coast of British Columbia, specifically around the Vancouver Island region. Emerald Lake is one of our favourite stops!

The painting is part of my Little Gems Series which is inspired by practice, play, and experimentation. I am grateful for positive, life-affirming, and uplifting business owners such as Cardinal Coaching who understand the power and value of adding beautiful artwork paintings to their offices! Using Feng Shui for a more productive office space

In terms of leveraging this predominantly purple-coloured painting in your new office space, using Feng Shui, the following is some gentle guidance to make this painting work for your company. To start, purple, sometimes known as violet, lavender, lilac, mauve, periwinkle, plum, amethyst, indigo, or magenta, is a colour that resonates with wealth, opportunity, and royalty. 

Using the Bagua from Feng Shui, if you consciously place this painting in the back left-hand corner of your office, it will accentuate the energies around wealth, prosperity, and blessings. Purple is a powerful colour and often associated with royalty and nobility. A colour that “demands respect’ and can often be associate with an ambitious self-assured leader. On a spiritual note, violet and purple are known to support in the practice of meditation, contributing to mental balance and stability, supporting the creation of peace of mind, and aiding in providing a link between the spiritual and the physical worlds. Often artists, musicians, writers, poets and psychics are all inspired by violet and its magic and mystery.
