Wednesday, Apr 8, 2015 - 6pm to 8pm

Deb Chaney Deb Chaney explores the question "where does spirituality meet physicality" in this series of large abstract works. Visually, this is expressed through texture, depth and vibrancy which allows the viewer to have their own journey within the work.

Natalie Reynolds Through the investigation of form and interplay of dark and light, Natalie Reynolds makes reference to the dichotomies of randomness and chaos, vs. balance and renewal in this series of large scale works.

Adrian Walker After years of research and documentation, Adrian Walker has created a series of works that are based on the changes in light and form as the landscape shifts its appearance under the affects of mist, from in and around Port Coquitlam.

The full exhibit runs from Apr 7 to May 2, 2015

Come to the Wednesday night opening for a lively night of art or visit the gallery from 12pm to 6pm Monday to Friday, or 12pm to 4pm on Saturdays. Ring the doorbell to gain access to the gallery.

I had no idea what she was talking about! Yesterday after receiving a text message from Leslie expressing how much I inspire her (Thank you !!!)  I'm now clear one thing for sure: I'm here to inspire! Looking back on The Little Inspiration Book, Ideas to Empower Women that I wrote twelve years ago, I'm excited to know where I've been and even more excited about what is around the corner. Each class includes all paints and materials, instruction, demonstration, handout, and hands-on in studio play time!

Where:     At my private working artist studio in Kitsilano, Vancouver.

Painting Donation to the BC Cancer Foundation

Fragments-of-Life_34-Small I am happy to be donating the original painting entitled Fragments of Life # 34   to the BC Cancer Society 2015 annual Doffodil ball fundraiser event. This is a stunning black-tie dinner, dance, and auction has become a leading date in Vancouver’s social diaries and always sells out fast. As one of Vancouver's most high-profile events, the Daffodil Ball attracts over 500 guests - affluent business and community leaders. Last year, the Daffodil Ball raised 1.14 million in support of families with cancer. Abstract Painting Workshop  
with Deb Chaney, SCA January 23, 24, & 25th, 2015 Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10 am - 4pm Workshop Description: Working on one large painting and several small pieces, in this abstract mixed media & acrylics painting workshop students will  learn techniques such as; creating texture, lifting and staining, basics in glazing with polymer mediums, and removal techniques to create depth. We will also play and experiment with the student's chosen acrylic mediums and acrylic pastes - such a as modeling paste, matte medium, pouring medium. The workshop will allow for lots of painting time, the support to complete one large painting, and the opportunity to explore your own creative freedom and discovery following the demonstrations and simple personal guidance offered for each artist participating from the instructor. About the instructor: Deb Chaney has been teaching acrylic mixed media abstract painting for the past 5 years and painting, exhibiting and selling her artwork for the past decade. Her teaching philosophy is to illuminate the artist within, inspiring individual personal creative empowerment. Just met Greg Smith from Rookie Blue (TV) !!!

RookieBlueCastCoolest thing ever happened today! I just met Greg Smith, star of the Canadian  TV series Rookie Blue (Officer Dov Epstein), while walking downtown Vancouver today. (pictured above, last officer on the right) We spoke briefly as we crossed the street together and he was so kind and down to earth. I told him that I loved the show (I do!) and that my dream was to have my original art used in TV and Film on sets. I then asked him if it would be OK for me to give him my card? Moment of truth: My hands were shaking as I handed him my business card showcasing my large ‘Storming’ abstract landscape piece!
